Welcome to the Chanterelle Photography blog!  The "regular" website has been temporarily taken offline because a totally new one is coming - and I can't wait for you to see what it is going to look like!  The blog (here) always has the most recent images on it, so while I'm working on the updates to the new site, please scroll down and check out the latest pics and news below!

Engagement: Jessica & Tyler – Mathews, Alabama

When Jessica told me she and Tyler liked to ride bikes at her house in the country, I knew there would be fun pictures ahead. When I saw the bikes were red and well-loved, I was even happier. When I saw Tyler’s argyle socks, I was completely giddy! I think he thought I was teasing him because I kept going on and on about his socks, but what a lot of people don’t realize is that little things like that are what help make the pictures interesting and really “them”! They brought a ton of clothes for me to look through, and also brought along some gerbera daisies to incorporate in the pictures – because once upon a time, they didn’t get to see each other as often as they would have liked, so Tyler would send her flowers to let her know he was thinking of her (to all the guys out there, take notes).montgomeryweddingphotographer1montgomeryweddingphotographer2Every time I look at this one, I can’t help but smile. :) montgomeryweddingphotographer3montgomeryweddingphotographer4montgomeryweddingphotographer5montgomeryweddingphotographer6montgomeryweddingphotographer7

Wedding: Nicole & Carlo – Toronto, Ontario, Canada

2010 is shaping up to be another busy year of travels – I’ve already been to Mystic, Connecticut and Orange County, California, and it’s only February! Now that I’ve been home for a bit and am getting back into the swing of things, I can finally share the second of the two weddings I second shot in Toronto for my friend Judy Cormier! I primarily stuck with Carlo, the groom, at the beginning of the day:destinationweddingphotographer01destinationweddingphotographer02The ceremony was held at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church – and Nicole fought back tears as she started her walk down the aisle.destinationweddingphotographer03destinationweddingphotographer04After the ceremony, we headed to an abandoned farm for portraits:destinationweddingphotographer05destinationweddingphotographer06Nicole was stunning in her Atelier Aimee gown – the bottom was made up of layer after layer of pleated chiffon.destinationweddingphotographer07destinationweddingphotographer08destinationweddingphotographer09destinationweddingphotographer10destinationweddingphotographer11destinationweddingphotographer12Next, we were off to the reception at Bellvue Manor – where the guests were greeted by a martini bar at the entrance:destinationweddingphotographer13Inside the reception hall, the silver, white, and crystal decor was truly spectacular:destinationweddingphotographer14destinationweddingphotographer15destinationweddingphotographer16destinationweddingphotographer17The food was equally fabulous – the antipasto bar was a gorgeous spread, and was followed by a four course dinner:destinationweddingphotographer18destinationweddingphotographer19destinationweddingphotographer20destinationweddingphotographer21destinationweddingphotographer22The wedding ended literally on a sweet note – along with the wedding cake, the guests were treated to a decadent dessert bar:destinationweddingphotographer23Thanks Nicole and Carlo for letting me come all the way from Alabama to be part of your day!

Engagement: Lisa & Hunter – Opelika, Alabama

I have to say it – I LOVE shooting in the country! Give me a farm full of open fields, weathered wood, and hay bales, and I’m a happy camper. Lisa & Hunter decided to start their session at Hunter’s family farm, which had all of the above, plus the added bonus of a railroad crossing.collinsblog7collinsblog2This whole series just makes me happy. :) collinsblog1collinsblog6They’re big Auburn football fans, so Hunter went the extra mile and got us access inside Jordan-Hare Stadium so we could finish up their session with a few shots on the field!collinsblog4collinsblog5collinsblog3

Portrait: AddiBeth – Montgomery, Alabama

AddiBeth (also known as the baby with the cutest ears on the planet) had her second session with me on what turned out to be a cold day – but you’d never know by looking at the pictures because she was happy as a clam. We tried to make it quick, and she brought her best gummy smile to help us get the job done!bradshawblog2bradshawblog3bradshawblog1bradshawblog4

Engagement: Whitney & Matt – Auburn, Alabama

Since they booked me via email for their wedding, I hadn’t met Whitney & Matt until the day of their engagement session. I drove up to Auburn University (where they met), and after chatting with them for a bit, I decided they are a delicious combination of three S’s: a little shy, a little sweet, and a little silly. They’re also observant – when I said I wanted to find a colorful spot, Whitney mentioned a little nook painted orange and teal, and when Matt spotted “you are loved” stenciled on a bit of concrete, I wanted to do a happy dance! Always good when your clients are looking out for you!rameyblog7rameyblog1rameyblog4rameyblog6rameyblog5rameyblog2rameyblog3

Engagement: Kate & Chase – Pike Road, Alabama

After jumping in a truck and driving around a bit, we realized that parts of Kate’s family farm were turned to muck after a couple of days of rain and weren’t usable for shooting. Good thing it was a big place and there was enough sun that morning to dry certain areas enough for us to come up with something a little sweet, a little rustic, and a little sexy!ruddblog7ruddblog2ruddblog6Kate has had her horse, Clipper, for most of her life, so I had to make sure he made an appearance. :) ruddblog1ruddblog4ruddblog5ruddblog3

Portrait: The Deneke Family – Auburn, Alabama

It had been a year since I’d seen Camille and Caroline, and I wondered if I would FINALLY be able to tell them apart. Turns out I could – their faces have slightly different shapes. The fact that I could tell the difference had nothing to do with Camille bumping her nose earlier in the day, which left a telltale mark (really)! They also made sure I got my exercise, as all two year olds do; so with twins, I was able to skip the cardio for a couple of days!denekeblog1denekeblog2denekeblog4denekeblog5denekeblog6denekeblog7denekeblog3

Engagement: Jennifer & Troy – Auburn, Alabama

Jennifer and Troy (along with their dog Gunner) decided to do their engagement session on the Auburn University campus – we even did a few shots in the area where one of them first said I love you to the other one. But I’m not going to tell you which one, and I’m not going to tell you exactly where. :) stubbsblog5stubbsblog4stubbsblog7stubbsblog6stubbsblog3stubbsblog2stubbsblog1

Wedding Albums: Deanna & Eric and Marie & Tommy

It must have been a “brown” week – Deanna & Eric chose a distressed brown leather for their album cover, accented by an ostrich texture in a golden tone. Then Marie & Tommy chose a solid chocolate brown leather with a touch of caramel toned lizard. And who said brown has to be neutral?albumblog1pasleyalbumblog1pasleyalbumblog2pasleyalbumblog3stylesalbumblog1stylesalbumblog2stylesalbumblog3

Merry Christmas to all – and to all, a really rad card!

It’s getting harder and harder to come up with something unique for our Christmas card – after last year’s “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” card, we had our work cut out for us. This year, Missy and I decided to keep things simple and chic, with a retro twist! Happy holidays to all of you, we hope you eat too much, watch a Christmas movie that makes you warm and fuzzy, and all your Christmas wishes come true!christmascardfrontchristmascardback
