Wedding: Amanda & Robert – St. Paul’s Episcopal Church & Selma Country Club – Selma, Alabama

When I was driving home from Selma after shooting Amanda & Robert’s wedding, I admit, I was a little smug. I just KNEW they were going to end up with a HUGE pile of to-die-for pictures. Not because I think I’m some sort of genius with a camera, haha. Not because it had been a beautiful sunny day. Not because the bridesmaids wore a chic shade of gunmetal grey. It was because they gave me a TON of time for pictures – they were willing to take all of their formal pictures before the ceremony (love that!), and as if that wasn’t enough, they wanted to know if after the ceremony, we could go over to the historic hotel where they were spending the night to take more pictures (um, historic hotel + more picture time = sign me up!).
collinsblog16It didn’t hurt that Amanda chose a gorgeous Melissa Sweet gown that was perfect for her:collinsblog13And once the veil was put in her hair, it was almost like you turned on the “bride” switch – I mean, how pretty is she???collinsblog7collinsblog2Robert was lookin’ pretty spiffy himself:collinsblog6They agreed to see each other before the ceremony, which I love because…collinsblog10…you get pictures like this…collinsblog12…and this! “So…how do I look?”collinsblog11Gotta have a bridal party jump shot. It was so funny because we had some timing issues, but I think the groomsmen made up for it – check out their fierce ninja skills!collinsblog15collinsblog9Off to the St. James Hotel for more pics. I thought it had a little New Orleans flavor.collinsblog8When I saw the lobby, I got a little giddy because I could see this picture in my head – I remember telling Amanda & Robert, “We HAVE to shoot on that couch.” Of course they were all for it, and we got my favorite picture of the day. It’s insane, right?!?!?!collinsblog3collinsblog14Did I forget to mention they got from the church to the hotel in a Rolls Royce? Can you say photo op?collinsblog4collinsblog17collinsblog5Later that night at the Selma Country Club, they surprised their guests with a choreographed first dance – thanks to Amanda & Robert for letting me be part of your day. I hope you two always shine in the spotlight. 🙂collinsblog1
