My mom was in town from Seattle for a short visit before her work-related conference started in Atlanta. Since I don’t get to see her very often, I put life and work on hold while she was here – so if you are waiting to hear from me, I promise you will get a response very soon!

While she was here, we went to see Menopause the Musical at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival – hilarious! If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you grab a few girlfriends, leave the kids at home (there is adult humor) and head out there. They’ve extended the show’s run until August 5th, so you only have a few more days to check it out!

Just heard about this amazing project that will be starting next year – a team of photographers will be going to Africa, to areas where most all the adults have died and the children left behind are more or less on their own. While they are there, the photographers will each mentor a young person, teach them a bit about photography, and in the end, the images will be used for a traveling exhibit – showing what the world looks like through that young person’s eyes. They will get to keep the cameras that will be provided to them, and they will have learned a new skill that may help them in the future, or simply bring them a little happiness.

When a fellow photographer pointed this clip from Britain’s Got Talent out to me, I literally had chills. Stuff like this is so awesome to me – an average guy with an average job, with an extraordinary hidden talent. I can only imagine how he felt on that stage! Rock on Paul!
