Wedding: Kimberly & Matthew – The Oaks Plantation – Pike Road, Alabama

What better way is there to start a wedding blog post than with a couple of kisses? 😉A wedding at the Oaks Plantation in Pike Road, AlabamaA wedding at the Oaks Plantation in Pike Road, AlabamaA wedding at the Oaks Plantation in Pike Road, AlabamaA wedding at the Oaks Plantation in Pike Road, Alabama
It was a very sunny, very hot day at The Oaks Plantation, but the sky was perfectly blue:A wedding at the Oaks Plantation in Pike Road, AlabamaA wedding at the Oaks Plantation in Pike Road, AlabamaA wedding at the Oaks Plantation in Pike Road, AlabamaA wedding at the Oaks Plantation in Pike Road, AlabamaTechnically, Kimberly and Matthew were already married – their first ceremony was held in Virginia, and they honeymooned in Hawaii. But just because this was their second wedding, it wasn’t any less real:A wedding at the Oaks Plantation in Pike Road Alabamaa wedding at the oaks plantation in pike road alabamaa wedding at the oaks plantation in pike road, alabamaThe reception was filled with personal touches – the cakes were made by the bride’s grandmother and grandaunt:a wedding at the oaks plantation in pike road alabama

Engagement: Rachel & Sean – Montgomery, Alabama

Since Rachel and Sean live in Florida, I didn’t get a chance to meet them in person until they opened the door for their engagement session. Little did I know, I got a VIP ticket to the gun show – this is one hot and fit pair (which makes sense, since they own CrossFit Black Box)! Rachel was shocked that I wasn’t tall. I was shocked that anyone thought I might be, lol!A Tallahassee Florida couple's engagement session in Montgomery AlabamaA Tallahassee Florida couple's engagement session in Montgomery AlabamaThis goose was stalking them the entire time, they had to shoo him away with a stick:A Tallahassee Florida couple's engagement session in Montgomery AlabamaSo since they had a stalker, I figured we should give him something to look at:A Tallahassee Florida couple's engagement session in Montgomery AlabamaA Tallahassee Florida couple's engagement session in Montgomery AlabamaA Tallahassee Florida couple's engagement session in Montgomery AlabamaHow can you not love a couple that quotes Nacho Libre and will bust out a random booty pop???A Tallahassee Florida couple's engagement session in Montgomery, Alabama

Destination Wedding: Michelle & Phil’s Trash the Dress Session – ClubHotel Riu – Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Hot bride – check. Hot groom – check. Hot day – double check. Poor Michelle and Phil were so sweaty when I put them close to each other that I think they could hardly wait to get in the water! One of the challenges of shooting at a resort is finding unique locations that aren’t covered in tourists or signs that tell those tourists where to go. The little nook below is actually the entrance to a locker room:A trash the dress session at clubhotel riu ocho rios jamaicaA trash the dress session at clubhotel riu ocho rios jamaicaA trash the dress session at clubhotel riu ocho rios jamaicaA trash the dress session at clubhotel riu ocho rios jamaicaA trash the dress session at clubhotel riu ocho rios jamaicaA trash the dress session at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios Jamaicaa trash the dress session at clubhotel riu ocho rios jamaicaA trash the dress session at clubhotel riu ocho rios jamaicaa trash the dress session at clubhotel riu ocho rios jamaicaa trash the dress session at clubhotel riu ocho rios jamaicaa trash the dress session at clubhotel riu ocho rios jamaicaI confess: every time I see this picture, I feel like I should put on my best tv announcer voice and say, “Eternity. Destination Wedding: Michelle & Phil – ClubHotel Riu – Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful Canadian girl, who decided to go on a trip to Ireland. There she met a very special English boy. It wasn’t long before the English boy knew the Canadian girl was the one he wanted to keep forever. So about a year later, the English boy planned to marry the Canadian girl in the sunny land of Jamaica. But the story doesn’t end there, because the English boy wasn’t the only person the Canadian girl met in Ireland. She had also become fast friends with an American girl while they were on a tour around the country. And as the luck of the Irish would have it – the American girl just happened to be a wedding photographer. 🙂 Serendipity works in mysterious ways!A destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaMichelle and Phil are two of the nicest people you will ever meet – and so obviously head over heels for each other that you can’t help but be happy for them. I’m not talking cheesy, googly-eyed puppy love here. You know that expression about loving someone so much it hurts? That’s them. When you’re around them, you feel it. And when it was time for Michelle to walk down the aisle, there wasn’t a dry eye on the beach…A destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, Jamaica…including the groom’s:A destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios, JamaicaThere were plenty of laughs too – especially when Michelle got a little overzealous during the sand ceremony and didn’t leave much room for Phil’s contribution…A destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu in Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at CLubhotel Riu Ocho Rios Jamaica…but even with the laughs, tears of joy were never hard to find:A destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaIn memory of Michelle’s mom, a tiny picture of her was tied to a bouquet of the biggest calla lilies I have ever seen:A destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios jamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaThe events of the day all took place at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios, including the ceremony, dinner, and reception on the beach:A destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaA destination wedding at Clubhotel Riu Ocho Rios JamaicaSpecial thanks to Oubon Phommavong for assisting during this trip!

Michelle and Phil: it’s still crazy to me to think about how the three of us crossed paths at the same time, but I’m SO glad we did. No one deserves the kind of happiness I saw in Jamaica more than you two (and I’m not going to say anything else because I’ll get all weepy, so I’ll just say I hope we’ll get to do another trip together soon!). To Michelle & Phil’s families and friends: Canadians are some of my favorite people in the world for a reason, now I have to add English folks to the list! Thank you so much for making us feel like family.
