Bridal portraits can be tricky to do creatively – brides are often afraid of getting their dress dirty before the big day, and don’t want to do anything other than stand in one place. I understand. Wedding dresses are expensive. It’s your dream dress. And I’m certainly not going to try and drag you through a mud pit for your bridal portrait (AFTER the wedding is fair game!). But I figure it’s best to make an effort to get some awesome pictures and just plan on the dress getting a little dirty on the bottom (let’s face it, that can happen just getting in and out of the car the day of the wedding). I’m know I’m biased but I say cool bridal portraits are worth spending the money to get the dress spot cleaned if it really needs it! And if there’s anyone who’s willing to do what it takes to get the shot, it would be Blair! Who else would show up with some kick butt cowboy boots?.jpg "orangecountyweddingphotographer3")

I met Lindsey and Michael when I was shooting Karoline and Chris’s wedding last year, where Lindsey was the maid of honor. We talked a little bit about her being engaged, and when Michael asked me for a business card later on in the day, I knew I was going to love working with these two – who doesn’t love a groom who takes initiative???.jpg "birminghamweddingphotographer01")

When Gavin came in, I wondered if he would look like his brother Gage (who was already a graduate of the Chanterelle Photography baby plan!). Much to my surprise, Gavin didn’t have his brother’s brown hair, but blonde. One thing they did have in common despite the color is their big, soulful, heart-melting eyes (Gavin’s turned out hazel, as opposed to Gage’s brown). You couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for a wedding at Auburn United Methodist Church: sunny and clear, not too hot, not too cold. Perfectly springy, including birds chirping in the trees – we found out quickly not to stand under them (yes, there were some bird poop casualties). When Matt first saw Whitney, my heart skipped a little because he was completely at a loss for words. He just hugged her tightly, sort of stuttered and stammered and finally got out, “I don’t know what to say.”.jpg "auburnweddingphotographer6")
