Engagement: Amanda & Robert – Auburn, Alabama

Finding parking on Auburn’s campus is always fun – finding parking AND finding your couple is even more fun! Thank goodness for cell phones! Amanda and Robert brought along their gorgeous dog Chloe, which seemed like a great plan until Chloe decided to spill the water from her bowl on most of Robert’s clothes. Luckily, the wet parts of his shirts didn’t show since they were tucked in!barretteblog2barretteblog4barretteblog5barretteblog1barretteblog3

Portrait: Andy – St. Croix, US Virgin Islands

If you’re a regular blog visitor, then you’ve heard me mention one of my best friends on the planet (and fellow photographer) Andy many times. We met at a photographers’ get together in Chattanooga a couple of years ago and have been joined at the hip ever since. While we were in St. Croix to shoot Jessi & Darren’s wedding, we decided that we both could use new headshots. So here’s a few I shot of my buddy – I’ll post some of the ones he shot of me later!andyblog1andyblog2

Happy Memorial Day – with special thanks

Maybe it’s because my dad was a retired Navy Lieutenant Commander. Maybe it’s because one of my closest friends is a retired Air Force Colonel. Maybe it’s because I spent a lot of time in military hospitals when I was growing up. I’ve got a soft spot for our military. It’s awesome for everyone to have a three day weekend before going back to the daily grind – and while you’re having fun, take a minute to remember why you get that extra day off to hang out at the lake or have a backyard bbq. Thanks to all the men and women who gave their lives in service of our country, your sacrifice is not forgotten.clapsadlVintage postcard courtesy usmemorialday.org – visit their site for free public domain images to use on your blog, facebook, etc!

Destination Wedding: Jessi & Darren – Estate Belvedere – St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, Part 1!

The gorgeous Estate Belvedere was the location of choice for Jessi & Darren’s destination wedding in St. Croix, USVI. Lucky me, I got to second shoot the wedding for my awesome friend Andy – like you’d have to ask me twice about shooting in a gorgeous home built around the ruins of a sugar mill, with a sparkling ocean and blue skies as the backdrop??? Needless to say, there was no shortage of photo opportunities, so I’m gonna break the wedding up into two posts so I can share more with you!

Their decorations almost didn’t get there in time for the wedding day (note to self: when shipping something to St. Croix, three weeks ahead is cutting it close) – but I’m glad they did. The touches of blue and yellow went perfectly with the house. hunnicuttblog1hunnicuttblog2hunnicuttblog3
