Look for my work IN RSVP…AND on the cover!

I’ve been keeping a secret – but now the secret’s out, so I can tell you that my wakeboarding pic is on the cover of this month’s issue of RSVP ! This was one of my favorite shots of 2008 and is the same shot that I won the Rangefinder/Nikon award for, so it’s totally exciting to see it in print here in Montgomery too! I also shot the Extreme Makeover Wrap Party for the magazine, and have a big ad in this issue as well, so make sure to check it out!

Wedding Album: Trenna & Shane

Once again, the ever popular ostrich textured leather was at the top of the list of choices! Trenna and Shane chose it in a golden tone to accent the distressed brown leather of their awesome album!

Back from St. Croix!

I just got back from an amazing trip to St. Croix (one of the U.S. Virgin Islands if you are thinking to yourself “where is that???”) where I had the opportunity to second shoot a portrait session, wedding, and trash the dress session with my good friend Andy! We literally have thousands of pictures to go through before I’ll have images ready to blog, so in the meantime, here are a couple of happy snaps we took while on the island, just to make you wish you were there with a cocktail in your hand:

Engagement: Jennifer & Mike – Montgomery, Alabama

They are the classic house divided – Mike’s an Alabama fan, Jennifer’s an Auburn girl. So after we did some fun, romantic pictures, we had them get into their team gear and grab a football and incorporate the rivalry into their session! I don’t think Mike minded the “tackling” part. 🙂

Wedding: Katie & LeRoy – Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church – Wetumpka, Alabama

When I rolled out of bed the morning of Katie and LeRoy’s wedding, I looked out the window to see if the weatherman was right. Yep. It had rained. And more was coming. But when I pulled up to Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church in Wetumpka a little while later, I wasn’t bummed out by the rain. Katie and LeRoy are impossibly cute together. I’m talking completely adorable. A little rain wasn’t going to get in the way of that.

There were so many sweet and funny little things that I noticed that day. The way Katie’s smile turns up at the corners just like her dad’s does. How LeRoy’s dad would change his expression for every frame when I was shooting, he said he was “modeling” for me to give me some variety. The way the flower girl walked around in a pair of too big high heels, and squinched up her nose when she was hamming for the camera. How Katie and her sister looked so much alike. I wanted to bear hug them all!

I don’t narrate my pictures very often, but I’m gonna do more of that here than I normally do, because I can. 🙂 And because there are few pictures that I just have to talk about. Ladies first.

Katie was a beautiful bride. And I don’t mean pretty. I mean STUNNING.campbellblog2campbellblog14Seriously, are you kidding me??? GORGEOUS.campbellblog3LeRoy’s no slouch either. I say I love his smile because he smiles with his whole face!campbellblog6campbellblog8campbellblog15Now we get to the juicy stuff. If your one of my Facebook friends, then you know that I made a comment about a certain series of pictures from this wedding that make my heart stop every time I look at them. It was when Katie and her dad first saw each other, shortly before he walked her down the aisle. You could literally watch his smile get bigger and bigger when he saw her in her dress:campbellblog10But it was her reaction that stole my heart.campbellblog11Time to get married:campbellblog5campbellblog12And of course take some more fun pictures!campbellblog4campbellblog7campbellblog9campbellblog1campbellblog13And they lived happily ever after. 🙂campbellblog16Thanks Katie & LeRoy for letting me be a part of your rainy day!
