Portrait: Photographer Headshots – Nashville, Tennessee

While I was in Nashville for The Grind photography workshop, I did a couple of mini sessions with the group. One thing I talked about was branding – how to show your clients who you are and what your business is all about. So as part of that, I did headshot sessions for the participants who wanted one, so they’d have a picture of themselves to post on their websites and blogs. I have a bit of an odd way of doing headshots, and I’m sure they were thinking, “what the heck is she doing???”. It’s hard to explain, and it sounds very new age hippie and weird, but I don’t know how else to explain it – I get a vibe from people. I get a feeling of who they are and I see a picture in my head. Sometimes I have to ask a few questions, sometimes I have to move them around a few times, and then it just clicks (bad pun, I know). So here are the results – these photographers are from all over, so if you live near one of them, be sure to out their work!

Wedding: Gwen & Danny – St. Bede Catholic Church & Wynlakes Country Club – Montgomery, AL

Gwen and Danny were pretty much all smiles all day long – but Gwen made me weepy during the ceremony at St. Bede, when the pianist started to play “The Prayer” and she got teary eyed. After that, it was back to all smiles again for some fun pictures on the trolley they arranged to pick them up and take them to the reception at Wynlakes. We took advantage of the gorgeous golf course for family and bridal party pictures, and then headed inside to enjoy a fabulous cake by Peggy McKinney, and dance the night away to music by The Music Guys. Thanks Gwen and Danny for having me and I hope you enjoyed Costa Rica!

Portrait: Camille & Caroline – Montgomery, Alabama

I can’t believe these two are one already. I remember when they were newborns with little wrinkly butts! They just ooze sweetness with their big blue eyes and sweet smiles, and I love their round little noggins! I can’t wait to see how much they’ve grown next time.

Commercial: House On Wheels

If you’ve been to 1048 or The Exchange at the Renaissance downtown, then you’ve probably heard House On Wheels play. After shooting a couple of weddings where these guys were the band for the reception, I told them I’d send them a few pics because they are just nice guys (and they don’t complain when I climb up on their stage to take pictures). So FINALLY, here they are! If you’re looking for a band for your event or just want to find out where they’re playing next, click here and tell them Julie sent you!

Portrait: The Beville Family – Montgomery, Alabama

COLD. Really cold. And windy. That’s the only way I could describe the day I shot the Beville family. They came back for an encore after shooting a family session with me last year, and little did they know, they would end up with some great “huggy” pictures because of the cold (it was HOT last year, if I remember correctly)! They were great sports and toughed it out, and were willing to get silly with me, which was fun (although I think Adrian was mostly okay with the jumping thing because it kept him warm!).
