Portrait: Anna Beth – Montgomery, Alabama

Anna Beth’s 6 month session was a great example of making the most of what you’ve got! Her mom brought a dress with a matching bonnet, and we ended up using the slip that goes underneath all by itself for the majority of the session because it was so simple and sweet. We also used the bonnet by itself (too cute with just a diaper on), and turned another dress inside out! Sometimes you just have to think outside of the box!

Back from the O.C. & back to blogging!

I had an awesome time in Orange County, CA with my family for Christmas and our family reunion – but now I’m back, so it’s time to get back to blogging! With the crazy holiday season I had to put blogging on hold, so I have TONS to post. So while I get all that stuff ready to blog, I’ll leave you with a quick snap I took with my iPhone while I was on vacation. If you remember the blog posts from my last trip to California, then you know one thing I have to eat while I’m there is crab from Newport Seafood. Several of you asked why I love it so much and how it’s cooked. It was hard for me to describe, so I promised to take a picture the next time I went – well here it is! (Oh, and they are Dungeness crabs that are first cut up, then deep fried, then sauteed in yummy spices with goodies like green onions.)

Merry Christmas, Breakfast at Tiffany’s style!

If you got last year’s Christmas card from me, then you know there is always a picture of my dog Missy with me on it, and there’s always some sort of theme. Last year, it was the ad from The Gap, this year, I went to my photographer friend Andy Armstrong (who took the pictures for me last year as well) with the idea of doing our own little version of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. So Missy and I put on the pearls, Andy raided my cabinets and set the table, and here’s the result! (Thanks Andy, love ya!)

Portrait: The DeLongchamp Family – Montgomery, Alabama

The DeLongchamps have a great ready-made spot for pictures – their house is surrounded with lots of green and space to run around. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that they are a photogenic family too! The kids did their best to stay clean for as long as they could, but had fun getting dirty again while mugging for me and playing with each other!
