Portrait: Deanna – Prattville, Alabama

Deanna’s officially a married woman now, but until the sneak peek of her wedding pictures is ready, check out a few of her bridal portraits! Row after row of ruffles gave her dress a fun and funky vibe, so I ran with it and we mixed it up a bit during her session  – we did some sweet, some sexy, and some with a touch of Vogue thrown in!

Jimmy

Look closely, you may recognize him – I thought he looked familiar when we met, and we figured out that I had been to a wedding a few years ago where he sang at the reception. Jimmy is a local singer/songwriter who was looking for some new pictures to use for promotion, so he brought along his guitar and I shot as he did his thing downtown. Keep your eyes peeled, you may see his name in the adult contemporary genre soon!

The Big Easy & The Big New Blog

It’s been an awesomely crazy month – there’s so much to post about that I can hardly contain myself! It’s all so exciting, I don’t know where to start, but I guess I will start with the obvious: the awesome new blog! How cool is the mini slideshow at the top of the page??? I’m totally digging the fact that this new blog will allow me to post BIGGER pictures too. All of the posts from the old blog have been transferred here, so if you have the old blog bookmarked, make sure you update your bookmarks, because this blog has a different web address than the old one.  I also have to take a second to give a shout out to my friend and fellow photog Andy Armstrong for shooting my bio pic that you see above!

Earlier this month, I took a little trip down to New Orleans for an incredible photography workshop – the Big Easy is such an awesome place to shoot! If you know me and my style, then you know I am just a little bit obsessed with interesting textures and colors. In New Orleans, I could walk down ONE block and easily find 10 different spots to shoot in. I have so many pictures to share (imagine having your wedding pictures taken on Bourbon Street!), but for now, I’ll leave you with a couple snapshots I took around town. Look for a TON of new blog posts in the next few days – check back often because I have so much to post, new pictures may end up on the second page!

Jamey & Jeremy: Maternity

Their little girl is going to be blessed with some great genes – Jamey and Jeremy are both tall, cute and super fit! Can you believe Jamey had only a few weeks to go when these were shot? She looked so content, I had to have her do a little “zen” pose!

Rangefinder again!

The “Focus” section of the September issue of Rangefinder Magazine contains a press release about my Rangefinder/Nikon cover contest image! There’s a before and after, which shows the result of the post-processing I did on the image using the design house suite, which was created by my friend Andy Armstrong. Check it out below – it’s so weird to see my name between two other press releases introducing products from Adobe and Epson!
